Vauban or Star Fortress

I recently purchased a hot wire styrofoam cutting tool. I decided to do a make a star fortress first. The too makes cutting styrofoam very quick; I can't wait to make something else' I'm thinking about a parking garage.

It was supposed to look like it was cut out of rock, but it looks fake. If you have suggestions please post.

  1. As I noted on the Puyallup Yahoo Group, this is very, very impressive. Dean

  2. EPS and XEPS are both rigid, closed cell, thermoplastic foam materials. EPS (often called beadboard) is produced from solid beads of Extruded polystyrene. Expansion is achieved by virtue of small amounts of pentane gas dissolved into the Lightweight panels base material during production. The gas expands under the action of heat, applied as steam, to form closed cells of EPS. These cells occupy approximately 40 times the volume of the original polystyrene bead. The beads can be molded to specifications to form insulation boards, blocks or customized shapes for the building insulation or packaging industries. For more info visit at styrofoam-online.co.uk
